Dr Jolene Cooney

I first came to Clayfield Chiropractic as front office staff when I was 15. Upon completing my masters of chiropractic in 2004, I have worked across a multitude of private clinics developing a strong focus on paediatrics and family chiropractic care. Now my two children are in school I have the wonderful privilege of rejoining the Clayfield Chiropractic team. Through this excellent clinic I have the opportunity to service our local community and bring my passionately developed skillset to your family.

In conjunction with being an AHPRA certified Chiropractic doctor, I have sought to further my formal education in Paediatrics, neurology, nutrition, and research.

Hi I am Jolene.  I have had the good fortune of receiving regular chiropractic care since my family moved to Brisbane at the age of 12. I have been a part of the Clayfield Chiropractic team on and off since the age of 15 when I worked the front desk on Saturday mornings. That experience opened my eyes to the wonder and uniqueness of chiropractic care. Witnessing so many people and families prioritise their health with chiropractic care made it an easy decision from a teenager to become a chiropractor myself.  Straight out of high school I attended the University of Queensland where I attained my Science degree majoring in Anatomy. From there I moved to Sydney to complete my Masters in Chiropractic from Macquarie University. I have been in private practice since 2004 in several clinics all of which have had a strong focus on paediatrics and family wellness care.  In my first few years of practise I once again was very privileged to be mentored by two chiropractors that had completed their Masters in Chiropractic Paediatrics. Following that I started my own family and am now a proud mum of two gorgeous kids. Having my own children inspired me further into the world of chiropractic paediatrics and as such I have completed the vast majority of my further education for AHPRA registration (governing body of all health professionals including medical doctors, nurses, physios, etc) in paediatrics, neurology, nutrition and research. I am an avid reader on all things health related and pride myself on staying on top of the most recent research.

I am truly blessed to have found a profession and career that I truly love and as such a days work never feels like work. Every day for me in practice is another day to help people be the best version of themselves. It is my goal with each and every person who consults with me for care to be free of aches, pains, niggles and restrictions.  The age of patients I have had the privilege of helping over my career ranges from newborn to ninty-six years old (and counting!). The techniques I prefer to use and hence use the most of are extremely gentle and effective hence my ability to see such young and old age groups with successful outcomes.  These techniques are called Sacro-occiptial techniques, cranials, activator and Logan Basic.

I have recently re joined the excellent Clayfield Chiropractic team now that my own kids are both in school. It is exciting to be back where my career inspiration began and working alongside my Aunty Cheyne once again.

On top of enjoying my work, I am a lover of books, movies, socialising with friends, relaxing at the beach and most of all travelling all places near and far.
